HP Launches New Android and Windows Tablets
HP on Tuesday launched a range of tablets powered by Android and Windows operating systems and a 2-in-1 device.
The company in a statement announced the launch of three new Android-based tablets namely HP Pro Slate 12, HP Pro Slate 8 , and HP Pro Slate 10 EE, and also revealed new Windows-based tablets, the HP Pro Tablet 10 EE (Windows) and HP Pro Tablet 408 G1.The HP ElitePad 1000 G2 vertical solutions including HP ElitePad 1000 G2 Healthcare and HP ElitePad 1000 G2 Rugged tablets were also announced, but without detailed specifications. Additionally, a 2-in-1 or convertible Windows laptop-tablet hybrid, the HP Elite x2 1011 G1, was also announced.
According to HP, the Pro Slate 8 16GB model is priced at $449, and the 32GB model at $469. The HP Pro Slate 12 , only available in a 32GB model, has been priced at $569. The HP Pro Slate 10 EE, on the other hand, is now available at a starting price of $279.
The Windows-based HP Pro Tablet 10 EE is also available now starting at $299 for education customers and for other customers at $349; the Pro Tablet 408 G1 at $299, and HP Elite x2 1011 G1 2-in-1 Windows device at a starting price of $899. The HP ElitePad 1000 G2 Healthcare Tablet is priced at $1,499 and is now available to buy. The HP ElitePad 1000 G2 Rugged Tablet, on the other hand, is expected to be available in February at a starting price of $1,599.
The two new HP Android Slate tablets, the Pro Slate 8 and Pro Slate 12 feature a 7.86-inch full-HD QXGA (2048x1536 pixels) display and 12.3-inch (1600x1200 pixels) display respectively.
Both the tablets run Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and are powered by 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoCs coupled with 2GB of RAM. Both tablets offer expandable storage via microSD card (up to 32GB).
